Day 1 of Trade Winds 2018 concluded with the National Leadership Summit

The National Leadership Summit with the theme “Preparing leaders in the era of intelligent machines” was the last session on the first day of Trade Winds 2018. The esteemed panel consisted of Mr. Nitin Sethi, Vice President – Digital, IndiGo, Mr. Subhashish Mazumdar, Senior Vice President, Hinduja Media, Mr. Jaideep Agarwal, Managing Director -HR Shared Services, Deloitte India, Mr. Saleem Sheikh, Vice President- HR, EXL Service, Mr. Raveesh Bhatnagar, Senior Implementation Coach, McKinsey & Company.

The discussion was moderated by Dr. Rohit Mehtani, Professor at IIFT.

Mr. Jaideep Agarwal, MD – Shared Services, Deloitte India set the ball rolling by talking about the gap that has formed due to the speed at which technology, people, business and public policy are fundamentally evolving and the need of leaders who can quickly adapt themselves to the massive changes in the world of business by adopting technological advances.

Mr. Nitin Sethi, Vice President – Digital at IndiGo added to the discussion by stating that one becomes great leader by understanding the basic needs of the people and catering to them while creating jobs for the masses in the process.

Taking the discussion forward, Mr. Saleem Sheikh, Global Human Resources Lead – Insurance Business, EXL Service talks about the importance of technological transformation when it is pin pointed by the customers. He believed that transformation should be backed by context and shouldn’t be carried out just for the sake of it.

Mr. Subhashish Mazumdar, Senior Vice President – Hinduja Media stated that it is imperative for leaders to consciously adopt technological changes. He also stated that changes in technology should be looked upon as stepping stones to drive the positive changes in the world of business.

Sharing his insights during the discussion, Mr. Raveesh Bhatnagar, Senior Implementation Coach at McKinsey & Company talks about the importance of analytics for a company and how technological advances can be tapped to improve the quality of analytics.

At the end of the invigorating session, The National Leadership Summit – Trade Winds 2018 panel unveiled the new edition of  ‘Strategos’, the annual magazine published by Socrates – The Consulting & Strategy Club, IIFT.
