Rajeeta Prasad, an innocent Hindu girl lands at Paris. Goes to Burger King, not wanting to spend a bomb on the first day of her 3 months exchange program in Europe. She asks for a cheeseburger, obviously thinking it to be a normal vegetarian burger. Ends up loving it and orders it again. TUBELIGHT!
Yes, I had beef. Not intentionally, though, but ki farak painda hai. I broke all my gastronomical rules in Europe.
The list of weird and unique dishes can go on and on but my favorite experience was in Venice when I ordered the Venetian special mixed seafood spaghetti which almost made me puke (Yes, the exact scene from movie Queen). I deliberately didn’t ask the chef about the contents of my platter as I was sure I would lose out on my 10 euros spent on that. I somehow finished it and politely asked the chef to write down the creepy names which went down my throat. So this is what he said- “Octopus, Tiger prawns, Shrimps, Scallops, Clamps, Cozzes, Calamari, Squid…yeah that’s it”
The other incident which almost made me cry was the time when I was in Dubrovnik, standing in King’s Landing (yes, you heard me right) and the guard said…”They are filming today”…and I was…OMG! I have to catch a glimpse of Tyrion (or just anyone would do). Crossing the Pile Gate Entrance to Old Town, Pile Harbour, Blackwater Bay, The Red Keep, The City Walls and finally the steps of the Great Sept of Baelor where Cersei’s Walk of Shame was shot, I finally saw the Game of Thrones crew, but sadly, the cast was not there. But the entire experience was priceless, as if, I was actually in the world I love.
